Friday, July 10: 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM Mountain Standard Time
Location: Shonto Chapter House
Indian Rte 221, Shonto, AZ 86054
Event Information:
This free workshop is rooted in Diné ways of knowing and Indigenous planning that invites participants to reflect on land as living, layered, and relational—holding stories, responsibilities, and futures across generations.
Participants will be introduced to brownfields through an Indigenous planning lens, reframing these sites not only as contaminated or abandoned parcels, but as places marked by layered harms—centering traditional knowledge, strengths, and visions for healing and reuse. This workshop is designed as a space for learning, reflection, and collective imagining to support Diné‑led pathways toward land healing, cultural continuity, and Hózhó futures.
This Workshop is for Chapter House (local) leaders, staff, Council Delegate (national to Navajo Nation) leaders, and others interested in Indigenous planning and brownfields.
