Bringing Tribal Brownfields to Life with ArcGIS StoryMaps

Presented at the 2026 Tribal Lands and Environment Forum (TLEF), this interactive, hands-on training introduced ArcGIS StoryMaps and its many applications for Tribal Brownfields.

 

Participants learned basic StoryMaps tools and techniques while exploring how the platform can support inventories, public records, public participation, project tracking, outreach, and storytelling.

Through live demonstrations and interactive activities, attendees built their own StoryMap and discover ways to visually showcase environmental work, redevelopment progress, and community successes.

 

Whether you are new to StoryMaps or looking for fresh outreach ideas, this presentation provides practical skills, resources, and inspiration you can immediately bring back to your program.
